The Woodbury Room is a spacious 1st Floor
room in the Salem – Marblehead, MA area
The Woodbury Room is a spacious Deluxe Historical room on the 1st floor of the Northey Street House B&B named after the seafaring Captain Isaiah Woodbury, who occupied the house.
The Woodbury room was probably used as a parlor in the 18th century where important guests were greeted and merchant businesses conducted. The high ceilings makes for a grand stately introduction to the Cabinet Maker’s home.
The Woodbury room features the original 18th century architectural fireplace mantle. It is perfectly complimented by the Federal style antique fireplace andirons & screen. The antique mirrors, and period prints really takes you back to the 18th century.
A queen bed, two antique night stands, an antique sitting bench, antique chest of drawers with TV/DVD atop, a love seat, a round table with two Shaker ladder back chairs, a wing chair with foot stool completes the room. The love seat converts to a very comfortable twin size bed and is perfect for when 2 beds are needed, a couple with an older child, or 3 guests.
The Woodbury room has a spacious en-suite with a standing shower stall and built in wall heater. The shower has a pull-out handheld massaging shower head. In the Summer, the Westerly winds come thru this back side of the house providing cool breezes. 100% cotton towels, hair dryer and toiletries are provided. The closet has iron & board, extra towels, pillows, & blankets.
We use only hotel quality premium down and 100% cotton bedding. The room is equipped with a mini-fridge & microwave. There is also a safe, soft radiant supplemental, low wattage heater for guests comfort.
The fireplace with marble slab, though non-working, is filled with antique hurricane lanterns and is well stocked with candles for a soothing ambience.
