The Garden Room, a classic Zen-like room with an Asian inspired decor.
The Garden room, one of three Bed and breakfast rooms in Salem – Marblehead, MA area. It is conveniently located on the ground floor of the inn with a parking spot right next to the room. Guests come through the back gate, take a few steps up to the left and there is the room. The private entrance doors opens out to the Japanese-ish garden in the rear. It is truly a labor of love. Designed by Flora as a 2005 addition along with the back yard garden. It utilizes the Japanese small space concept: efficient and effective use of every inch of space. The 5 windows and glass patio doors bring in much natural light which can be controlled by the solid green room darkening curtains. Additional glass blocks & shoji screen-like door bring the light further into the bath area.
The Garden room has a private entrance that opens out to the Japanese style garden. Guests feel like they are nestled in a corner of the garden and is in harmony with nature. Outdoor seating beckons guests to enjoy the fresh outdoors watching the birds feed and the chimes gently sing.
Interior decor was designed by Flora’s daughter, a senior at Parson’s, The New School of Design in New York at the time. Accommodation features a queen bed, night stands, an ottoman that converts to a slim cot size bed, a chest of drawers, a desk & chair, and a private bath with a tub/shower combination. There is also a mini-fridge and microwave. The shower has a pull-out handheld massaging shower head.
We use only hotel quality premium down and 100% cotton bedding. The rooms are equipped with hair dryers, extra towels and toiletries. The room provides easy access to garden lounging. Guests are welcome to garden herbs to garnish their snacks/meals.
